Consistent over time,real gold will be not changing in all situations it simply means that the person here is not a cheater and not changes by time to time.

And humble
Now comes gold plated: 
Not impressive

Disappear when the time of him is required.
So, therefore test the person not by his look but by his good nature and simplicity.
